This video was created to educate entry level animators the very basic ideas surrounding animation. The video in its entirety was animated by David J. Vandepeer. The voice over was provided by Ross Castlemay. Originally the 12 principles of animation were introduced by the Disney animators Ollie Johnston and Frank Thomas in their 1981 book The Illusion of Life: Disney Animation. It has since become a staple of most modern techniques as the only way to achieve realistic motion.
