Work In Progress / 18 November 2019

Hello everyone,
I suspect your sick of me by now.

Posts for the 15th were once again just a few series of speed sketches, I generally need a free evening to really drill into a pose For a longer duration. I also tend to lose confidence after consecutive failures. The speed sketches sometimes really take the enthusiasm out of me, especially if I feel I’m making the same mistakes. Then I go to the Proko Facebook group and see really competent poses done in really short periods, it can be a little disheartening. I am moving onto the more complex lessons after another week with the bean (coming soon) you will see them the closer I get to my present developments. Can’t wait to show you :)

As I move down the list through more random poses I keep getting to sitting and laying poses which have a lot of foreshortening (my weakness). I also find issues drawing poses that are not at dynamic angles (front on, sitting with hands on lap). It’s easier if a leg is sticking out or an arm is moving back or both. I asked on the Proko Facebook group if there was a system to drawing speed sketches but I think that defeats the purpose. I just have to loosen up and capture what I can without thinking about it too much. I will endeavour to do this going forward.

Over & Out,
