IPad Doodle Blog - The Bean - Nov 25th 2019

Work In Progress / 17 December 2019

Hello everyone!

This is my last post for the night but dont worry its a good one. My bean exercises for the 25th were some of the best I have done. They just prove to me that I know have a good balance with my custom brush set. Nothing is choppy, I draw from my arm in big circles and I tend to flow between shapes a hell of a lot more then I used to. The only issues now are to do with form and anatomy which can be a bit hit and miss. When I move onto the Robo bean (should be this week). I'm hoping some of these anatomical issues will suddenly click with me but I'm sure knowing my luck that they will not and I'll need a few weeks to iron out the kinks. Oh well.

I'm gradually getting the hang of these sketches I just wish I could do them quicker at a greater quality. I need to pay more attention to the shift of the body when I place the centre line connecting the shapes. I also need to analyse the size of the shapes more and how that changes as the form moves through space. Most importantly I need to understand how the bean can work in conjunction with the form. Sometimes I get a good result with a bean but other times its a little messy probably because I misunderstand the bean. The human torso leads into the pelvis which leads away - the body has a balance and I need to identify it.

Until tomorrow!
