For this project I was tasked to animate a health potion as designed by our lead artist for the "Legion of Hell". The core asset was comprised of numerous shade and light layers most of which I had to recreate as the original asset was lost. I recreated it within procreate on the iPad. Originally the bottle was only required to have some basic rotation motion on a short timeframe but I tasked myself to make the contents feel more like a liquid and opted to work in After Effects rather then animate frame by frame.
The bubbles were added as a later addition once the bottle motion and offsets turned out so well. After making such a nice core animation I could not refuse when they asked me to make the bubbles burst and drop a little bit of residue. All in all it turned out quite well. I kept it to a lower frame count to make it more in-keeping with other motion assets.
